The first home football scrimmage is two weeks away.
The Henryetta Quarterback Club is gearing up for the season, and announced their new t-shirt design this week. The design features the slogan, “We are Knights.”
“The coach’s motto is faith, family and football, so the direction we are going is team unity,” Quarterback Club President Ryan Day said.
Club volunteers will be posted on Main Street Aug. 14 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. to sell the new shirts and decals.
The price for a shirt is $15, and funds will go toward supporting the Henryetta Knights football team through the club. Gold “H” decals will be $3 for one, or $5 for two.
The Quarterback Club has existed for several years, and works behind the scenes to make football season a success.
Some activities hosted by the club include creating football programs, selling fan t-shirts, putting up the football field flags and blowup tunnel, providing players with equipment and other needs and serving breakfast and a devotional to players every Friday morning. They also provide Friday night dinners for the players.
“Sadly, some players may not get this nutrition if it wasn’t for the Quarterback Club volunteers,” board members said in a release.
The group is searching for more volunteers to join the team and assist in selling program ads and t-shirts, or serving meals.
Day said he would like to see several individuals volunteer with the club and support the Knights.
“Instead of a few people doing a lot, we can get a lot of people doing little to make it easier to be able to support our team,” he said.
Anyone wishing to volunteer can contact a board member through the Henryetta Quarterback Club Facebook page, or talk to a member during home games.
